5:00 AM
5:00–5:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Chiang Rai. The drive to Chiang Khong Thai border takes approximately 2 hours. At the border, our driver will place a company sticker on you and take a photo of your group to share with our Laos team. Walk to immigration for your Thai exit stamp. Cross the border to Laos via bus (5-minute ride). Our staff will meet you at the Laos border to assist with visa on arrival (requires 1 photo and 40 USD; payment in Thai Baht is possible but may incur additional charges). A 20 THB fee is required for the visa sticker. After visa formalities, we’ll bring you to our office in Huay Xai where you can buy snacks, SIM cards, and enjoy a complimentary lunch box. 9:00 AM: Board the van to Nateuy Station. Arrival around 2:30–3:00 PM. 3:30–4:00 PM: Train departs for Luang Prabang. 6:00–6:30 PM: Arrive in Luang Prabang the same day.
